A man was sentenced on Friday for having sexual contact with an underage girl he knew.
Thad W. Sugay, 23, of Naperville, pleaded guilty to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, in exchange for a 15-year prison sentence, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
According to authorities, Sugay had sexual contact with an underage girl, whose age was only said to be less than 13, while he was living with the girl’s family in St. Charles. The alleged sexual assaults happened between October 2008 and April 2010.
According to a Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office Press Release, Sugay must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence under Illinois law. Upon the completion of his prison term, Sugay will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, as required under the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act

There was a child kidnapping attempt in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood on Wednesday.
The abduction attempt happened as a girl was walking in the 3500 block of West 27th Street. A man followed the girl into an alley at approximately 5:30 p.m., attempted to grab her arm, and drag her into a garage. The girl was able to escape the attempt.
The man is described as Hispanic, age 30-35, 5’5″-5’7″ tall, with a mustache. During the abduction attempt, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He appeared “dirty,” according to Chicago Police.

There was a sexual assault in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood Tuesday night.
The attack happened at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of North Dearborn at approximately 10:30 p.m. The victim, a 31-year-old woman, was approached from behind by a man outside her building; he forced her to take him to her unit, where the sexual assault and robbery occurred.
The assailant is said to have had wielded a knife.
According to Chicago Police, the woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The assailant is described as having an Eastern European accent.

There was a child kidnapping attempt in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood on Monday.
A man grabbed a 13-year-old girl by the hair after approaching her and talking to her in the 1200 block of North Rockwell Street at approximately 8:50 a.m.
According to Chicago Police, the man let the girl go when she began screaming. She was able to run away; the man ran west on Crystal Street.
The alleged assailant was described as a black male with a dark complexion, 25-30 years old, 6’00″ tall, with brown eyes, black hair in a fade haircut, and a mustache. During the incident he was wearing a black leather jacket, red shirt and blue jeans.

There was an attempt this morning to lure a 15-year-old girl in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The attempt was made at approximately 7:35 a.m., in the 3500 block of West Augusta Blvd.
The girl noticed a man driving a black car pass her 3 times. Upon her turning south to walk onto Central Park Avenue, the man pulled the car to the curb near her, and told her to get into the car or he would “snatch” her.
The girl fled toward Chicago Avenue.
A community alert issued by the Chicago Police Department describes the man as 25-30 years old, 5’7″-5’10″, 160-190 lbs and a “chubby” build. He is said to have brown eyes, black hair and a light complexion. He has pock marks on his face across the cheek area. He was wearing a black “hoodie” as well as a red baseball style hat.
The car is said to possibly be a black Chevy Malibu with a silver stripe and custom rims.
