A man was sentenced on Friday for having sexual contact with an underage girl he knew.
Thad W. Sugay, 23, of Naperville, pleaded guilty to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, in exchange for a 15-year prison sentence, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
According to authorities, Sugay had sexual contact with an underage girl, whose age was only said to be less than 13, while he was living with the girl’s family in St. Charles. The alleged sexual assaults happened between October 2008 and April 2010.
According to a Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office Press Release, Sugay must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence under Illinois law. Upon the completion of his prison term, Sugay will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, as required under the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act
